Alaska has no statewide lodging tax that we found, so rates are set locally. The City and Borough of Juneau says room stays carry the 5% sales tax plus a 9% hotel-motel room tax (14% combined), and the Fairbanks North Star Borough's room-tax form uses 8 percent. A third-party guide lists Anchorage at 12%, which we could not confirm from an official page. The calculator below applies Juneau's verified rates only; it is not valid for other places. Treat its total as a floor.

Juneau hotel-tax calculator (5% sales tax and 9% room tax)

This calculator applies the City and Borough of Juneau's 5% sales tax and 9% hotel-motel room tax, as read October 17, 2026. It is for Juneau stays only, and does not include resort or cleaning fees (which Juneau taxes at 5% only), parking or any platform fees, so your actual total may differ. Ask your hotel for its all-in rate.
